Apple iPhone 14 Pro may have a 48MP camera and A16 chips, as well as satellite connectivity

Apple expects to launch the iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro in September. A new report claims that the iPhone 14 Pro models won’t get the latest Apple A16 Bionic chip and a 48MP lens, as the Pro models will.

Mark Gurman, in his “Power On”, newsletter stated that Apple is trying to differentiate the Pro and non-Pro iPhone models within its iPhone 14 range. Only the iPhone Pro models will have the new Wide 48-megapixel camera, while standard iPhone 14 models will still feature the 12-megapixel Wide camera just like the iPhone 13 series.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst recently stated that standard iPhone 14 models will likely stick with the A15 chip from last year. Pro versions of the iPhone 14 will have the A16 Bionic chip. Gurman suggested that this may be due to a global shortage of chips.

Gurman stated that Apple continues to work on satellite connectivity for its iPhone. The new functionality may be available this year in the iPhone 14 line. Rumours circulated back in 2021 that the Apple iPhone 13 might come with a low Earth-orbit (LEO), satellite communication mode. This would allow users to make calls and send messages without having any signal. The iPhone released its final version without any satellite connectivity.

Due to regional regulations, the launch date of this feature might be slightly different in each region. This feature might not be available to everyone in the world.
