My website is open to all adventurers. Thank you for viewing the seventh episode in our feat series. Are you passionate about the crossbow and are you driven? Beauty is able to make both crude and machine parts and can fire off a bolt at lightning speeds. Although it’s not an easy task, anyone can use it if they want to. This makes it more practical in many ways. This is the Crossbow expert feat by DND5eIt is found in the player’s handbook. With that intro out of the way let’s take a quick look at the description so we know what we’re talking about.

This is possible with no prerequisites. This means that everyone can grab it, regardless of race, class, and skill level.

If you practice the crossbow frequently, you can reap these benefits as well:

  1. You do ignore the loading quality of the crossbows by which you’re proficient.
  2. You are not at risk of being within 5 feet of a hostile animal, so it doesn’t really matter if you need to make some ranged attack roll.
  3. Whenever you do use the attack action and even attack by using a one handed weapon and also you can able to use a bonus action to attack with the hand crossbow that you’re holding.

It’s amazing stuff. Let’s take a look at the walkthrough so you can kind of break this down a little bit and just get a better grasp on it.

So we’ll start with the first part the loading property.

According to the handbook of old players, a loading is defined as:

You can only fire one round from this weapon due to the loading time. Regardless of the number of attacks you can only take so in order to do ignore that so long as you’re proficient with it that means if you’re not proficient you don’t gain access to that full top portion there.

Now the second part being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your range of attack rolls. So that’s really cool because it kind of implies that it is impossible to impose this advantage so long as that advantage is coming from the hostile creature. At least as written that’s what it looks like. So that means if the creature is prone then you still don’t get disadvantage which is really neat when you think about it.

And the third part when you use the attack action and attack with a one-handed weapon you can use a bonus attack or a bonus action story to attack with a hand cross but you’re holding. This is really cool.

With a hand crossbow, such as this one, you can only make one hit. The ammunition tag is still attached to the hatter’s hand crossbow. This means that you need at least one hand free to load it. It is impossible to hold a crossbow or sword with just one hand. There’s no way you can possibly load it without dropping your swords you’re still limited to the one shot.

It’s still really good though you as essentially gets you an extra attack when you think about it which is nice. With that out of the way let’s take a quick look at my personal thoughts.

Personal Thoughts

This allows you to tag multiple targets with your crossbow. If you have a magical crossbow that automatically loads itself and thus doesn’t have the ammunition proponent.

You can turn it into a machine pistol. The art even while we’re holding another weapon. The artificer has a really cool subclass that lets you kind of do just that but since it’s not really can and yet. I can’t really recommend you use it. So in terms of who benefits most from this fighters predominantly would depending on what kind of a character you’re playing your paladin might as well and anyone with multi attack.

Alright! I hope you guys have a wonderful day. Happy adventuring, as always! You are welcome to share creative uses for this feat or stories that relate to it in comments. They are my favourite thing to read, and I know they are enjoyed by everyone who reads them. I’ll see you guys next time.
