D&D Shipwright Background D&D Simic Scientist Background Firearm Specialist Feat 5E Metabolic Control (UA) DnD 5E Feat Piercer (UA) DnD 5E Feat Gunner (UA) DnD 5E Feat DnD 5E Wild Talent Feat

All adventurers are welcome to my site. My website is gratefully acknowledged. Today we’re gonna be talking about another racial feat. That’s right today we’re talking dragon fear feat dnd 5e found on the xanathar’s guide to everything handbook.

If you’re unfamiliar with how feats work they are essentially extra traits and abilities you can give your character usually every fourth levels or so. Some characters get them a little bit more frequently but for the most part it’s every four levels. You get them in place of your ability score improvements which is pretty and it’s an okay trade-off depending on what you’re built to be.

That being said let’s take a look at dragon fear 5e and let’s take a look at the description.

Description

There is a prerequisite and that’s he got to be a dragon born. It is a racial feat so only the dragonborn race is gonna have access to this and you’ll kind of see why in a movement.

Prerequisite: Dragonborn

When this dnd5e Dragon Fear feat angers, you can radiate fear. You can enjoy the following benefits:

  • This feat dnd5e will allow you to increase your strength and Constitution score by a maximum of 20.

It is quite powerful stuff but not easy to grasp.

  • Instead of inhaling the dangerous energy, you could use your breath weapon to make the sound the howl. This causes any creature within 30ft of you to make the wisdom save throw (DC 8 + proficiency Bonus + Charisma modifier). A save will succeed if the target is unable to hear or see you. If the save fails, the target becomes scared and takes all types damage. The target may be able, however, to make another saving throw or end the effect for its own good.

Pretty cool stuff there let’s to go through a quick walkthrough and kind of break it down a little bit.

Walkthrough

The strength, constitution and charisma you select influenced your ability score. It’s quite powerful stuff because actually get a bump or a modifier bump depending on what your current score is. This is cool. People are often scared by the 30 foot radius surrounding you. If you notice, it doesn’t actually say how many creatures you can target there is no upward limit on this. The 30 foot radius is acceptable as long as they are able to hear and see you. This is very useful. Super useful.

Let’s take a quick look at the frightened condition here, so we’re all on the same page.

Fearful Condition

Feared creatures can’t perform ability checks or take up attack roles if they are within close proximity to the source of their fear. The creature can’t willingly move closer to the source of its fear. So really good to use if you’re in a bind. Now let’s take a look at my personal thoughts on the matter.

Personal Thoughts

This is my favourite. The dragonborn breath weapon in my opinion isn’t really that great but this has the potential to be super crazy at least in terms of controlling utility. I would also allow them they get advantage on any form of intimidation checks with this ability i’d also let them kind of channel it a little bit.

So in a social context i would have them be able to shout at an increased height without burning up one of their cast of a breath weapon but that’s up to your DM and kind of how they feel about it. But i don’t see why not in any case yeah it’s pretty good i could really see squish your characters benefiting a lot from this.

Mages, rogues, those kind of characters that you were usually aren’t in the front lines but still can be but their damage die isn’t really compare their hit point die. Isn’t really conducive of it.

Yeah that’s my thoughts on it if you have any ideas and build ideas, any creative uses, any cool stories involving dragon fear please let me know down in the comments i really appreciate reading through them. Like everyone else who read the article. I hope you have a great day and enjoy your adventures.
