Welcome to the 2nd level Spell Series on Let me introduce myself. Spell dnd5e to increase ability which just sounds so a freaking awesome to say it’s great. Anyone can use it. Bard, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer Artificer. It is located in the Guide for old players. It’s amazing, and I don’t know why the wizard didn’t get it. In any case let’s take a look at the mechanics here. The In effectHere’s a look at it Magically Enhance a Creature. Cast time is one action. The touch range is also one hour. It is a concentration spell. It is composed of three components: Material and Verbal. If you’re curious about that material component it is fur or a feather from a beast and when you cast it Each second spell slot can be used to target additional targets at higher levels.. So essentially if you cast it using a spell slot of third level let’s say yo know actually let you target two creatures. It doesn’t mean you can stack two effect on one creature sadly although i might allow that through homebrewing but that’s up to you and the school is transmutation. Now let’s take a look at into its full description to better understand exact wording of this spell and break down each individual option.


You can touch a creature to grant it magic enhancement with the enhance ability 5e spell. There are some of the effects that you need to chose–actually, the target will gain the effect until spell ends.

Bear’s Endurance: When this effect activates, the target gains an advantage in constitution checks. The spell ends and the target loses 2d6 temporary hits points.

Bull’s Strength: This effect gives the target an advantage when strength checks are performed and doubles his/her carrying ability.

Cat’s Grace: This advantage gives the target an advantage when performing dexterity testing. If the target is not incapacitated, they will not sustain injury from falling 20 feet and more.

Eagle’s Splendor: Charming checks can only work to your advantage.

Fox’s Cunning: Intelligence checks prove that the target has an advantage.

Owl’s Wisdom: Wisdom checks confirm that the target has an edge.

At higher levels: By casting this d&d enhance ability spell using the spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can able to target one additional creature for each slot of above the 2nd level.

This is some great stuff. I want to be sure these aren’t savings, but checks. Persuasion, if you don’t get it persuasion can be a charm check but not a savings. So this is actually quite useful and this is really really good if your party has a huge blind spot for example let’s say everyone took intelligence and as their dumb stat and you’re in an environment where you need to make a lot of intelligence checks. This is a great way of hedging your bets. That’s my humble opinion of course but you know what it’s up to you. Now let’s move on to some cooler alternative uses here.

This is a great tool for better balancing your group. This tool also covers any potential blind spots due to characters and min/max. This is a great way to win events.

I think i really like this spell if you’re planning on playing a long-term campaign. Because it is quite common for a party not to be ready to perform a series checks, I believe this. Your life may be at risk. Experienced parties know how to do this.

So, i think this is a great spell to have in your arsenal if you’re planning on playing the character for the long-term. If you’re playing a one-shot i might not recommend it typically people are lot more balanced in one shots at least that’s what i’ve noticed. But ultimately i’ll leave it up to your discretion.
