How to change Aadhaar card photo: Step-by-step guide

Are you unhappy with the way your Aadhaar Card looks? You can quickly change your photo or add a new image. Follow these steps to change the Aadhaar picture.

Step 1. To modify the Aadhaar photograph, visit your nearest Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Center. Click the link to find your nearest centre.

Step 2: Next, you will need to obtain the Aadhaar enrollment form. You can find the UIDAI official site to download the form. This will make it easy.

Step 3: Complete the form by filling in all details.

Step 4: Once you have completed the form, send it to the Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Center.

Step 5: Next, enter your biometric information.

Step 6: An Aadhaar Permanent Enrolment Centre executive takes a photograph of you and will use it as your Aadhaar Photo.

Step 7: After the process has been completed, you’ll need to pay a fee for updating the Biometrics information on your Aadhaar.

Step 8: After you have completed the above steps, you will receive an acknowledgement slip with an Update request Number (URN).

Step 9: With the URN updated, you can view the status of the photo-change request via the official website.

Step 10: Download the Aadhaar Card with your new photo at UIDAI’s official website.

The upgrade process can take up to 90 days.

How to get Aadhaar Card with an updated/new photo

Step 1: Visit https://uidai.gov.in/my-aadhaar/get-aadhaar.html

Step 2: Select ‘Download Aadhaar.

Step 3: Type the Aadhaar number, Enrolment ID or Virtual ID.

Step 4: Fill in the captcha, then click on “Send OTP”

Step 5: Get your OTP and your Aadhar card by entering the code sent to you registered mobile number. It is also possible to download it.
