Aadhar card, a vital document, comes with a unique 12-digit number from the Unique Identification Authority of India. This document can be used to verify the identity of Indian citizens. It is required to obtain a subsidy or government service, as well as pension benefits. The Aadhaar is also mandatory when filing income tax returns. The UIDAI website offers a number of tools that can be used to avoid any discrepancies, such as filing at the wrong address. Although users can still visit the Aadhaar Sevakendra or Aadhaar Enrolment Centre to correct details, the emergency situation makes it safer and more convenient to use the online option. If you’re looking for an easy way to change your Aadhaar card address online, without requiring proof of address, here are some steps.
Online Aadhaar Card Change/Update Address without requiring proof
It’s easy to update your Aadhaar information online. Your Aadhaar number will be required along with the registered mobile number. UIDAI states that the Aadhaar number of the person verifying the Aadhaar, whether it is a relative or a family member, will be used for updating the Aadhaar.
Step 1: Visit uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: After you have opened the account, click on the “My Aadhaar” tab. Select “update your address online”.
Step 3: Click on the top page to request a validation letter.
Step 4: Next, enter your Aadhaar code and captcha code. Click on the OTP button. A OTP will soon be sent to the registered mobile number. After you have received the OTP, enter it into the appropriate field.
Step 5: A new window opens where you’ll need to input the Aadhaar information of your verifier. Click on the “Send Request” option that you’ll find below.
Step 6: Click the button to confirm. After the request has been received, an SMS was sent to the address verifier to verify it. A confirmation message will then be sent, and you’ll receive a link by SMS to open which will enable you to log in again.
Step 7: Once the SMS link has been sent, the address verifier must open it and give his/her permission to have their address used as yours. To give consent, the address verifier must open the link and enter the OTP they receive via SMS.
Step 8: After the verifier has consented, you’ll receive an SMS with a link (SRN) and a service request number (URL). Click on the link to open it. Enter the SRN number and captcha code. Next, click on “Send OTP.”
Step 9: Type the OTP you received from your registered mobile number, and then click on Login.
Step 10: Next, the webpage will display the address which will be updated to your Aadhaar Card. Fill in the tick box and click the Submit button.
Once the request has been submitted successfully, an address validation letter will go out. You will need to click ‘Update address online’> Aadhaar code> generate OTP> log in to the site> Update address via Secret Code> Enter the secret code> After the verification process has been completed, you will see your updated address on the Aadhar card.
