- A lot of people only use one shared desktop or a laptop in their homes. Such users face a lot of difficulties while trying to access the internet from one browser. One simple method to manage any such conflicts is that you have a separate user instance inside of Windows. However, if you don’t want to take this route, you can create separate user profiles inside one Google Chrome instance. You can also do this to create separate user profiles for your work and personal browsing. Here we will be taking a look at how you can create separate user profiles inside of Google Chrome.
- While using Chrome you will first have to set up one user, which will be the default user for Chrome. This profile will be used to allow you to use Chrome on multiple devices and it will sync all data like passwords and bookmarks. To check out the base profile, you can click on the small circle with your profile picture or the starting letter of your user name. This circle is located in the top right corner of the web browser.
- When you tap the icon it will open controls to your user profile. There you can control the syncing options, payment options and more.
- Inside the pop-up window, you will see a section with the title, “other people”. Below that there will be a guest profile already created. Below that you will see an option to add another user, which you need to click on.
- This will bring up a pop-up window asking you to provide a username to the id and select an icon for it. The page also provides you with an option to create a desktop shortcut for the same. After you select all options you are done. Now you can access the internet with the other profile also, without disturbing your workflow.
- From inside of the new profile’s settings, you can also link your Gmail id to it from the settings panel to import all of your settings and browser history cookies and more.
