MediaTek quietly added another chip to the Dimensity 1000 system-on-chip series. MediaTek has unveiled the MediaTek Dimensity 1330 chipset that supports 5G connectivity. It is expected to be released with the OnePlus Nord 2T smartphone.
Dimensity 1300’s chipset was built with TSMC’s 6nm process. It features four Arm Cortex A78 processors including an ultra-core’ operating at 3GHz, four efficiency processors with Arm Cortex A55 processors operating at up to 2GHz, and a nine-core Arm Mali GPU. This chipset can be paired with 16GB LPDDR4x RAM at 4266Mbps and UFS3.1 storage.
MediaTek HyperEngine 5.0 supports it. The company claims that this software provides a complete suite of game-related optimisations, including exclusive AI-VRS and Wi-Fi features, as well as wireless earbud latency improvements using Bluetooth LE Audio technology, with Dual-Link True Wireless Stereo Sound.
The Dimensity 1300 supports 4K HDR video and 3-exposure Fusion, AI-pano Night Shot, AI Multi-Person Bokeh Video, multi-depth smart focused video, among others. You can choose between a 32MP+16MP or 200MP setup. You can also use it to record video at 3840×2160 pixels.
Displays are supported by the Dimensity 1300 chipet. It offers a super fast refresh rate and zero-lag visuals for gaming. Additionally, it provides smoother scrolling on webpages, social media streams, animations in applications, as well as improved user experiences through better web browsing. This chipset supports a 2520×1080 resolution display and a maximum refresh speed of 168Hz.
The new chipset is audio-oriented and offers AI SDR toHDR, dynamic per-frame tuning, AI scene detect and contrast control. MediaTek claims that the chip also provides excellent power efficiency for 4K video playback via popular streaming platforms.
Lastly, connectivity. MediaTek claims that Dimensity 1300 has a 5G modem built in and supports dual 5G SIM capabilities. The chipset also features a 5G Elevator mode and a 5-G HSR mode that provide seamless 5G experience with faster speeds and immediate recovery. Dual VoNR function is also available.
