Netflix is a popular streaming video app. Netflix allows you to watch many TV series, movies and other content starting at Rs.199 in India. Netflix: The best way to make the most of subtitles

Change language

Netflix allows you to choose different subtitles and audio languages. Your profile will save your choice and automatically default to your preferred language the next time you visit Netflix. This feature can be enabled by simply playing a video. To do this, click on “audio and subtitles” to select the desired language from the list.

Modify font size and font color

You can choose to change the font of your subtitles if you do not like it. Netflix lets you choose from multiple fonts for a better streaming experience. Simply go to Your Account > Profile & Parental controls > Subtitle Appearance> Font.

You can also change the font size for subtitles. The Profile can customize the subtitles. If your Netflix partner prefers large subtitles, this does not mean that you have to view shows with them on your Profile. To do this, go to your Account > Profile > Parental Controls > Subtitle Appearance> Font Size.

Modify the font color

Netflix allows you to alter the font color for subtitles. This is a feature you may not have known. You can make text semitransparent if you don’t want subtitles to distract from the visuals. You can do this by going to account > Profil & Parental Controls> Subtitle Appearance > Color.

Modify background

You can even choose different backgrounds with the Netflix app. To make it easier to read, users can add a background that is solid around any text on the screen. This can be enabled by going to your Account > Profile > Parental Controls > Subtitle Appearance> Background.

Add Shadow

You can also add drop shadows to the subtitles on Netflix for greater visibility. You can choose from several effects that will help you separate the text from its background. The outline and shadow colors can be changed. You can do this by going to your Account > Profile and Parental Controls > Subtitle Appear > Shadow.

Select Closed Caption

Closed captions (CC) are similar to subtitles but include descriptions of background noises and tracks, as well as names of any characters speaking off-camera. They are designed to be interpreted by those with hearing impairments. Play a title, then go to audio & subtitles and select “Audio Descriptions.”


Start the Netflix app. Choose the TV series or movie you wish to watch. Choose Audio & Subtitles in the options panel. Choose your favorite audio and subtitle option.

Subtitles can be placed at the lowest third of the screen for pre-recorded programs that have names and additional information.

Go to account settings and select “Subtitle Appearance”, located at the bottom. You can change your color, font size and text color.
