The government began the third phase to get vaccinations in April 2021, as the COVID-19 case count is increasing. Anyone over 45 can register on the CoWIN portal and the Aarogya Setu application to get COVID vaccine.

You will need an active phone number and a photo ID such as a Driving licence or Aadhaar card to register for COVID vaccination. To register for the vaccine, one can go to “”, or the Aarogya Setu website. You can also download the COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Here’s a step-by-step guide.

Register for COVID vaccination

* Go to and enter your mobile number. To verify, enter the OTP sent via SMS. To verify, click on the “Verify” button.

After the OTP has been validated, you’ll see the ‘Registration of Vaccination” page. Here, you’ll need to enter personal information such as name, gender and date of birth.

Keep track of the Beneficiary Reference ID. This will allow you to later download your COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Click the “Register” button.

You can also add as many people to your account by clicking the “Add more” button at the bottom right. However, they’ll need to enter their details.

* Select the “Schedule an appointment” button. You can search for your closest vaccination center by pin code, district or state.

* Based on your chosen centre, the available slots will be displayed. Select the date you wish to book and then click the “Book” button. After reviewing the page, click on “Confirm”.

* You will receive all details about the COVID vaccine via SMS.

Register for COVID vaccination via Aarogya Setu App

* Click on the CoWIN tab at the top of the Aarogya Setu home screen.

* Select the “Vaccination (Login/Register”) tab.

After entering your mobile number, you will receive an SMS with OTP. Click on “Verify” to enter the OTP.

How do I download the COVID vaccination certificate?

After the first vaccine has been administered, you can download the COVID certificate from “”, or use the Aarogya Setu App. These are the steps to follow:

* Open the “” link.

Enter the Beneficiary ID, click on “Search” to download your COVID-19 vaccine certificate.

Click on the “Vaccination” tab at the top of the Aarogya Setu App. Enter your Beneficiary ID, then click the “Get Certificate” button.
