The dark mode has been implemented by most major operating systems and platforms. This allows users to activate the dark mode in their websites and apps. These platforms and services include Twitter, Google Android, iOS and WhatsApp. Windows Phone, Windows Mobile, Instagram and Windows are all examples. Although the science behind dark mode is still controversial, it has a widespread appeal. Dark mode, as it is commonly believed, makes your smartphone easier to use. You can use the app nightly, wake up in the morning and unlock your smartphone at the end of the day.

Notable is the fact that many apps and services have been using dark mode since 2017. Most devices will already be in Dark mode, with dedicated dark mode settings. It is possible that your favourite apps are still in dark mode. We will show you how to enable dark mode in the YouTube iOS and Android apps. This version can also be enabled on YouTube on a computer or laptop.

YouTube dark mode: How do I enable it?

First Step:

Let’s start with smartphone apps for Android and iOS. Make sure you have the most recent version of your apps installed on your phone before we get started. On older OS versions, the latest apps have dedicated Dark Mode toggle options. They also support automatic dark mode for supported iOS and Android versions.

2nd Step:

Android 10 or newer will automatically change the YouTube app to match the current system theme. This dark theme toggle can be found under “Display” on the Google Pixel smartphone. It may also be found in the “Customisation”, or Themes sections depending on your phone’s brand. After switching to dark mode, open YouTube and it will remain in dark mode. The theme can be manually controlled by clicking on the “Appearance” sub-menu under the app’s “Settings” menu.

3rd Step:

If you have an older version of YouTube, open it and go to “Settings” at the top-right corner. Navigate to “General”, and then flip the dark mode toggle. On iOS, simply tap on the Account button in the upper left corner to access YouTube Settings. The dark mode toggle will be found at the bottom of the list.

To access the settings for the desktop version of the website, click on the three dots menu at the top right. You will see the “Dark theme toggle” at the top of your Language settings. To enable dark mode, tap on “Dark theme” to open a toggle. You are now able to enjoy dark mode.
